| 背面描述 | At center, a dynamic depiction of a soccer player in mid-kick, striking a ball, rendered in high relief against a polished field. The background incorporates an architectural element representing the Estadio Centenario (Centennial Stadium) in Montevideo, Uruguay, venue of the inaugural FIFA World Cup. A curved legend along the upper periphery reads 'URUGUAY - 1930', identifying the host country and year of the commemorated event. The issue year '2001' appears to the right of the central design. A curved inscription along the lower periphery reads 'CAMPEONATO MUNDIAL DE FUTBOL', identifying the commemorated event. |

Cuba's commemorative silver program of the late 1990s and early 2000s was prolific to the point of cynicism — dozens of issues struck in limited quantities and sold almost exclusively to foreign collectors, with little pretense of domestic circulation. This piece honors the 1930 FIFA World Cup, held in Uruguay partly because Jules Rimet believed South America deserved the inaugural tournament and partly because no European nation wanted the expense of traveling across the Atlantic during a global depression.
Uruguay won on home soil, defeating Argentina 4–2 in the final in Montevideo.
