Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the center of the obverse, depicting the traditional shield with a royal palm, rising sun, and oak and laurel branches, surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a staff. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery. The face value 10 PESOS appears in the lower field, flanked by the weight designation 1 OZ and the fineness AG 0.999 on either side of the central device.
