The San Carlos was a Spanish ship of the line that participated in the 1762 British siege of Havana — one of the largest amphibious operations of the 18th century, deploying over 200 vessels and nearly 14,000 British troops. Spain lost the city for eleven months before recovering it under the Treaty of Paris in exchange for Florida.
