The triggerfish depicted on this issue — Rhinecanthus aculeatus, known colloquially as the Picasso triggerfish — gave its common name to the Picasso triggerfish precisely because Picasso himself reportedly kept one and drew inspiration from its geometric patterning. Cuba's marine-themed silver program of the 2000s targeted the international collector market almost exclusively, with domestic circulation effectively impossible given the dual-currency system then operating on the island.
