Obverse description The obverse is printed in intaglio and centres on an oval guilloche frame enclosing a portrait of Matías Ramón Mella in military uniform, flanked by corner numerals '10' within lathe-work surrounds and the legend 'DIEZ PESOS ORO' along the lower border and upper right field. The heading 'BANCO CENTRAL DE LA REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA' runs across the top, while a circular red overprint stamp at the right reads 'CIUDAD TRUJILLO - DISTRITO NACIONAL - REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA'. Two signature lines with titles appear below the central vignette.
