| Obverse description | The Dominican Republic coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a cross, flanked by laurel and palm branches and surmounted by a ribbon inscribed DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD, with a further scroll at the base inscribed REPUBLICA DOMINICANA. The legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by five-pointed stars. The date 2000 appears below the arms, with the denomination DIEZ PESOS along the lower rim between two stars.
