Reverse description A detailed relief depiction of the Nao Victoria, the first vessel to circumnavigate the globe as part of Magellan's expedition (1519–1522), is shown under full sail, navigating stylized ocean waves across the central field. The caravel is rendered with fine detail including multiple masts, rigging, billowing square sails, and a small flag atop the foremast; a winged Victory figure appears as a figurehead at the bowsprit. The ship's name NAO VICTORIA is inscribed within a decorative ribbon cartouche in the lower field, and the date 1994 appears in a recessed oval tablet at the very base of the design.
