Aanvullende informatie

Máximo Gómez Báez was Dominican-born, a fact the Cuban government has historically soft-pedaled — he remains one of the few foreign nationals elevated to the absolute top tier of Cuban revolutionary iconography. His campaigns during both the Ten Years' War and the 1895 War of Independence made him the most tactically effective military commander the independence movement produced.

KM#820 is part of a broader commemorative silver program Cuba ran through the early 2000s, largely export-oriented and sold through European numismatic distributors rather than circulated domestically.
