Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a golden key between two landmasses over a blue-and-white striped sea in the upper portion, a landscape with a rising sun and mountains in the middle, and a royal palm tree at center right, all flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, bound at the base, with a Phrygian cap surmounted by a star at the apex. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 PESOS is inscribed along the lower periphery. The weight and fineness indicators 1 OZ to the left and AG 0.999 to the right appear in the field, flanking the arms.
