| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a golden key between two landmasses over a blue-and-white striped sea in the upper portion, a landscape with a rising sun and mountains in the middle, and a royal palm tree at center right, all flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, bound at the base, with a Phrygian cap surmounted by a star at the apex.
