Opmerkingen

Banco de Corrientes was a provincial institution operating in Argentina's northeastern Corrientes province, and its notes circulated in a region where the federal government's monetary authority had weak reach. Provincial banks across Argentina issued their own paper during this period, with wildly inconsistent backing — Corrientes was no exception, and public confidence in its notes fluctuated with the province's fiscal health.

PS1617 is scarce. Corrientes province suffered significant political turmoil through the early 1870s, including armed conflict tied to the broader Entrerriano uprisings, which disrupted normal banking and likely interrupted both issuance and orderly redemption of notes from this series.
