The Fokker Dr.I triplane is remembered almost exclusively through Manfred von Richthofen, who flew one when he was shot down over the Somme in April 1918 — though whether the killing shot came from Canadian pilot Roy Brown or Australian ground fire remains disputed by historians to this day.
