Reverse description The reverse depicts a full-length figure of Fidel Castro in military uniform and cap, standing in three-quarter profile and carrying a rifle, set against a dynamic background of radiating lines emanating from behind the figure to suggest light or revolutionary energy, with a stylised mountain range in the lower field. The word REVOLUCION is inscribed in large bold letters arranged around the right and lower border, with the numeral 30 and the word ANOS appearing in the central right field to denote the 30th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. The commemorative dates 1959 and 1989 are inscribed in two lines in the lower left field, below which a small mint mark appears.
