| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts an intimate scene of Camilo Cienfuegos and Fidel Castro in conversation, rendered in high relief against a plain field. A commemorative legend in four lines arches across the upper portion of the coin, recording the occasion being honored. The dual dates 1959 and 1989 flank the lower field, with the mintmark positioned at right. The composition closely follows that of KM# 255, issued for the same anniversary, and presents the two revolutionary figures in a naturalistic, historically evocative style. |

Trial strikes — pruebas in Cuban mint terminology — were produced by the Casa de la Moneda de Cuba primarily for internal approval and archival purposes, rarely entering commerce through official channels. This particular piece commemorates both Fidel Castro and Camilo Cienfuegos, the latter of whom died under disputed circumstances in October 1959 when his Cessna 310 vanished over the Gulf of Mexico — less than a year after the revolution succeeded. No wreckage was ever recovered.
The JMA reference prefix PPV confirms provisional status, meaning it was never approved for general release. Unlisted in KM makes auction appearances the sole pricing benchmark.
