Reverse description The reverse presents a stylized allegorical composition celebrating the Expo 2000 world exposition held in Hanover, Germany. A cartoonish winged fairy figure, rendered in polychrome enamel, dances above a depiction of the terrestrial globe shown in relief with a latitude-and-longitude grid. A large burst of colorful enamel fireworks or flowers erupts to the upper right of the field, symbolizing millennial celebration. Stars and small decorative elements are scattered throughout the upper field, and the date 1998 appears to the right of center. The circular legend EXPO 2000 EN LAS POSTRIMERIAS DEL MILENIO runs around the full periphery, separated by a raised border from the central design.
