Beschrijving keerzijde The central field features a frosted, highly detailed view of the Pyramid of the Moon (Pirámide de la Luna) at the ancient Mesoamerican city of Teotihuacán, rendered within a circular recessed medallion framed by a ring of small raised dots. Snow-capped mountains are visible in the background behind the stepped pyramid structure, with the Avenue of the Dead extending toward the foreground. The legend ESTADO DE MÉXICO curves along the upper periphery, with the date 2006 below it in the upper field; the denomination $10 appears in the lower legend, and the Mo mint mark is positioned at the lower left within the dotted border.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of a long-running series celebrating Mexico's thirty-one states plus the Federal District, this issue spotlights Estado de México — the most populous state in the country and the one that entirely surrounds Mexico City on three sides. The series was authorized to broaden collector revenue for the Casa de Moneda while simultaneously producing a documentable numismatic record of regional identity at the state level.

KM#830 is one of the harder entries in the set to source in original government packaging, as secondary market handling has been rougher on the capsules than the coins themselves.
