10 Pesos El Estado de Chihuahua

Chihuahua was one of the most militarily active states during the Mexican Revolution, and by 1914 the federal monetary system had effectively collapsed across the north. State and municipal authorities printed their own currency out of necessity — this issue is part of that sprawl of emergency paper, authorized under the revolutionary government controlling the state at the time.

Two separate American firms handled production: Maverick-Clarke in San Antonio took the bulk lithographic work, while Norris Peters in Washington contributed to part of the series. The split printing arrangement is unusual and likely reflects capacity constraints or supply interruptions rather than deliberate design.
