| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black and green intaglio on a light guilloche underprint. At left, an allegorical vignette portrays two classical figures — a seated male figure and a standing female figure — beside a beehive, symbolizing industry and commerce. The bank title 'El Banco Mercantil de Yucatán' runs across the top in bold letterpress, with the central denomination panel reading 'Diez Pesos' below a large numeral '10' flanked by red serial numbers. At lower right, an ornate lathe-work cartouche bears the word 'Diez' in large numerals, with signature lines for the Cajero, Director, and Interventor del Gobierno, and the imprint of the American Bank Note Co., New York at the foot. |
