Obverse description Black intaglio print on green and red underprint, with red serial numbers. A central vignette carries a portrait of Vicente Guerrero, the Mexican independence hero and president after whom the state is named. The note is framed by ornate guilloche scrollwork typical of American Bank Note Company production.

Reverse description Printed entirely in blue, the reverse is dominated by a large central oval vignette presenting a panoramic view of the port city of Acapulco, with its bay, hillside townscape, and vessels visible on the water. The denomination numeral "10" appears in ornate cartouches at left and right, flanked by intricate guilloche lacework and floral cornerpiece designs. The printer's imprint appears in small lettering at the bottom center.
