Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the center of the coin, surrounded by the legend 'REPUBLICA DE CUBA' at the top and the denomination '10 PESOS' at the bottom, with fineness 'LEY .925' and weight '27 GRS.' inscribed on the left and right sides respectively, all within a beaded inner circle. An outer ring features the coats of arms of the thirteen participating nations of the Encounter of Two Worlds commemorative series, arranged around the full circumference of the coin. The design reflects a collaborative numismatic issue celebrating the quincentenary of Columbus's arrival in the Americas.
