Beschrijving keerzijde The central device depicts the Angel de la Libertad of Chihuahua, rendered as a winged female figure standing in a dynamic pose with one arm raised aloft bearing a sword or torch, draped in classical attire, set against a deeply mirrored proof field. Stylized laurel or feather motifs arc symmetrically along the upper periphery. The mint mark Mo appears above the figure in the upper field. The legend MÉXICO is inscribed along the lower left, the denomination $10 to the lower right, the date 2006 to the left of the figure, and the inscription ANGEL DE LA LIBERTAD, CHIHUAHUA curves along the lower border.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of Mexico's ongoing "Mexican States" commemorative series, which the Casa de Moneda launched in 2003 to cycle through all 31 states plus the Federal District over roughly a decade. Each state received a single proof issue; Chihuahua's appearance in the 2006 run placed it among the second year's releases. The series was driven partly by collector revenue and partly by a broader institutional push to document regional identity through official coinage.

KM#774 is the standard catalog attribution for this piece within the Krause framework for the series.
