| Additional information |
Anne Bonny was an Irish-born pirate active in the Caribbean during the early 18th century, operating alongside Calico Jack Rackham until their capture near Jamaica in 1720. Cuba's interest in her as a subject is not purely romantic — the island has a long tradition of issuing collector silver commemorating figures associated with Caribbean maritime history, regardless of nationality or allegiance. Bonny's ultimate fate after her arrest remains historically unresolved; unlike Rackham, who was hanged, no execution record for her has ever been found.
