| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a detailed depiction of a historic screw press (volante), an early coining machine representative of the equipment used at the Casa de Moneda de México since its founding, rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field. The founding year "1535" appears above the press in the upper field, flanked to the left by the denomination "$10" and to the right by the "Mo" mint mark. The issue year "2005" is inscribed below the press. The circumferential legend "CASA DE MONEDA DE MEXICO" arcs along the upper border, with "470 ANIVERSARIO" completing the inscription along the lower border, each legend separated by raised dot stops. |

The Mexico City Mint — Casa de Moneda de México — was established in 1535, making it the oldest operating mint in the Americas. The 470th anniversary fell in 2005, and Banco de México marked it with this issue. The mint's founding predates any European mint established in the Western Hemisphere by centuries, and it was producing silver coinage from Potosí and Zacatecas ore within years of opening.
