Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a key between two promontories, a rising sun above mountains, and a royal palm tree, surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pike with a star, and flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, while the denomination 10 PESOS appears in the lower field beneath the arms. The design is rendered with fine detail against a deeply mirrored proof field.
