| 备注 |
The Banco Nacional de la República de Colombia was a state-owned institution created in 1880 under President Rafael Núñez, part of his broader push to centralize banking and eliminate the chaos of competing private banks that had issued their own paper throughout the 1870s. The bank held a monopoly on note issue, which made it deeply unpopular with the country's merchant class and regional commercial banks — opposition that eventually contributed to the political tensions of the late 1880s and 1890s.
Homer Lee Bank Note Company held the printing contract for a relatively brief window. The firm dissolved in 1891, and Colombian note production shifted to other American security printers shortly after.
