This note belongs to the peso series reintroduced after Argentina's catastrophic 2001–2002 financial collapse, when the government severed the decade-long one-to-one convertibility peg with the US dollar and froze bank deposits in the corralito. The peso dropped roughly two-thirds of its value almost immediately, and the Central Bank needed new notes fast — Casa de Moneda ran extended production schedules through the early 2000s to meet demand.
The eleven-year print window, 2003 to 2014, reflects both chronic inflationary pressure on the 10-peso denomination and the slow rollout of the subsequent redesigned series. By the time production ended, 10 pesos bought a fraction of what it had at first issue.
