Reverse description The bimetallic reverse features a central disc bearing a detailed rendering of the Aztec sun stone (Piedra del Sol), with the visage of the solar deity Tonatiuh rendered in the fire mask convention at its centre, surrounded by concentric bands of calendrical and cosmological symbols in low relief. The outer aluminium-bronze ring carries the numeral denomination $10 at top centre, the mint year to the left, and the Mexico City mint mark Mo to the right, all in Latin characters; the denomination in words DIEZ PESOS is inscribed along the lower arc of the ring. Inverted-L shaped denticle ornaments appear along the rim on most specimens.
