Obverse description Central field features the Colombian national coat of arms, depicting a condor with outstretched wings atop a divided shield bearing horizontal bands and a pomegranate, flanked by two cornucopias. The shield is rendered in moderate relief with fine detail on the condor's plumage. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA runs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, interrupted by the coin's beaded border. The date appears in the lower exergual area below the arms.

Reverse description Central field displays the bold numeral '10' above the word 'PESOS' in large raised lettering, all enclosed within a wreath of two symmetrical laurel branches tied at the base with a decorative bow. The wreath rises from the lower field and frames the denomination prominently. A beaded inner border rings the entire design. Depending on the variety, the wreath tip either nearly touches the inner bead ring (KM#281.1, Wide 10, 5 mm) or is set approximately 1 mm away from it (KM#281.2, Narrow 10, 4.5 mm).
