备注

Giesecke & Devrient's Leipzig contract for Uruguayan notes during the early 1930s came at a commercially convenient moment for the firm — European banknote printers were aggressively competing for Latin American government contracts as domestic order books thinned during the Depression. Uruguay's Banco de la República Oriental, a state institution established in 1896 with a mixed commercial and central banking mandate, was a reliable client through this period.

Pick 23 is part of a series that remained in circulation long enough to accumulate genuine wear; heavily used examples with edge splits along the horizontal fold are the rule rather than the exception.
