备注

Banco de Cartagena was one of several Colombian regional banks operating under the 1880 banking law that briefly allowed private institutions to issue their own currency. By 1900, that experiment was already collapsing — the government moved to suppress private note-issuing banks in the early 1880s, then reversed course, then moved again, leaving institutions like the Banco de Cartagena operating in genuinely uncertain legal ground by the turn of the century.

The Banco Nacional's monopoly was formally reasserted in 1904, effectively ending all such regional issues. Notes from this series surviving to today almost certainly never saw heavy port-city commerce — the timing left little room for it.
