Comments

The Banco Centro-Americano was a short-lived private commercial bank operating in Central America during the late nineteenth century, and its notes are among the rarer products of the American Bank Note Company's extensive Latin American output from that period. ABNC held engraved plate designs for dozens of regional banks simultaneously, and it is common to find that vignette elements on these notes were recycled across multiple unrelated institutions — a cost-saving practice that makes attribution by imagery alone unreliable.

Pick 134 is seldom encountered. The bank's operational lifespan was brief, limiting both print runs and surviving circulation examples.
