At left, a standing allegorical female figure in classical robes holds a staff and a tablet; at right, an oval portrait vignette of a bearded gentleman in formal attire. The central text panel bears the issuer name EL BANCO NACIONAL in large bold letters across the top, with REPUBLICA ARGENTINA flanking, and the denomination DIEZ PESOS inscribed below the promise-to-pay clause. The Argentine national coat of arms appears in the upper centre, and the numeral 10 is repeated in ornamental cartouches at both upper corners and along the bottom border. |

Banco Nacional was one of several private Colombian banks of issue operating under the 1880 banking law that briefly liberalized note-issuing privileges. The ABNC handled most of their printings during this period, and the quality of engraving reflects their standard commercial work for Latin American clients rather than anything bespoke.
The PS prefix in the Pick reference places this in the Specialized catalog for Colombian states and private banks — a detail worth noting because attribution to "Banco Nacional" can cause confusion with the later state-owned Banco Nacional de Colombia established in 1880, which was a separate institution with overlapping nomenclature but distinct note series.
