The circular legend 15 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821 arcs along the upper periphery, commemorating the date of Central American independence, while CENTRO AMERICA curves along the lower rim. Two ornate monogram devices flank the bust in the field at either side. The engraver's name MENER appears incuse near the truncation. The whole is framed by a finely executed beaded border. |
