| Reverse description | The reverse presents a left-facing bust of a bareheaded male figure, representing a classical allegorical personification of Central America, rendered in high relief with flowing hair and period attire. The circular legend 15 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821 arcs along the upper periphery, commemorating the date of Central American independence, while CENTRO AMERICA curves along the lower rim. Two ornate monogram devices flank the bust in the field at either side. The engraver's name MENER appears incuse near the truncation. The whole is framed by a finely executed beaded border. |
