Obverse description Central circular perforation surrounded by a symmetrical spray of six fern or pine fronds radiating outward from the hole, evoking Finnish natural imagery. A single stylised five-petalled rose in high relief is positioned at the top of the field above the hole. The date is divided at the lower portion of the field, with '19' to the left and the final two digits to the right of a small decorative knot or bow motif at the base of the spray. The overall design is spare and functional, consistent with wartime economy coinage.
