Additional information

Finland struck iron coinage during these years out of necessity — copper and other non-ferrous metals were diverted to the war effort under wartime material restrictions, with Finland fighting simultaneously against the Soviet Union in the Continuation War. Iron was a practical compromise, though it corrodes readily, which explains why undamaged survivors in any decent state of preservation are harder to find than mintage figures alone would suggest.
