| 正面描述 | The Finnish coat of arms depicted as a rampant lion facing left, brandishing a sword in its right forepaw and trampling on a sabre with its hind legs, all set upon a decorative ground line. The circular legend SUOMEN TASAVALTA (Republic of Finland) runs along the periphery, flanked by a continuous beaded border. The date appears in the lower field, flanked on either side by a small decorative rosette mintmark. |

Finland's switch to aluminium for this denomination came after years of copper-nickel issues proved too costly relative to face value — a calculation that was becoming untenable across Scandinavian small coinage by the early 1980s. The Mint of Finland made the transition cleanly, with no intermediate alloy experiments of note.
The series ran until 1990, one year before Finland's broader coinage reform ahead of eventual euro convergence discussions. By then the 10 pennia was already functionally marginal in daily commerce.
