Additional information

Guernsey's 2021 colourised decimal issues were produced under a licensing arrangement common to smaller Crown Dependencies seeking collector revenue — the Royal Mint has no involvement, with striking typically contracted to specialist private mints handling colour application through a resin or printing process bonded to the planchet surface. These pieces do not circulate. Guernsey's actual circulating 10 pence coinage has been functionally interchangeable with UK issues since decimalisation in 1971, making purpose-struck collector pieces the primary vehicle for island-specific designs.
