Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as modelled by Arnold Machin. The effigy occupies the central field with fine sculptural detail in the hair and drapery. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH THE SECOND, disposed left and right of the portrait, with the date flanked by two raised dots appearing in the lower exergual area. The Pobjoy Mint initials PM appear as a small mark beneath the bust truncation.
