Beschrijving keerzijde A large, boldly rendered poppy flower occupies the central field, depicted in close-up view with prominent overlapping petals and a finely detailed central seed capsule surrounded by stamens, after a design by Lizzie Harper. Flanking the flower on either side are small sprigs of wheat or foliage. The denomination TEN PENCE arcs along the upper periphery, while the word POPPY appears in the lower field beneath the bloom, serving as a commemorative inscription honoring remembrance.

Aanvullende informatie

Jersey issued this piece as part of its annual Remembrance series, which the island has treated as a recurring commemorative programme rather than a one-off release. The occupation of Jersey by German forces from 1940 to 1945 gives the island's poppy issues a particular local weight — nearly the entire civilian population endured five years under Nazi administration, an experience absent from mainland British commemorative thinking.
