Additional information

This piece belongs to the 2018 Definitive Coin set issued by the Royal Mint to mark the changeover from the Arnold Machin-derived portrait of Elizabeth II to the Jody Clark effigy introduced in 2015 — a transition the circulating coinage had already made, but which prompted a wave of collector-targeted proof restrikes across the decimal series. The Houses of Parliament reverse, designed by Christopher Ironside for the original 1968 decimal introduction, had by 2018 been in continuous use for fifty years across multiple metal compositions and effigy generations.

Spink reference F16 denotes the Jody Clark obverse paired with the Ironside reverse in silver proof format.
