Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse as a right-facing draped bust wearing the George IV State Diadem, adorned with pearls and floral emblems, with a drop earring visible at the neck. The encircling legend reads ELIZABETH II · DEI · GRA · REG · F · D · TEN PENCE · 2018, with the engraver's initials J.C. incuse beneath the portrait truncation. The denomination TEN PENCE and the date 2018 are incorporated within the peripheral legend, a design feature introduced with this series. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the diadem and hair, characteristic of Clark's neoclassical approach.
