| 背面描述 | A bold, textured capital letter 'D' dominates the centre of the field, serving as the focal motif of this entry in the Royal Mint's Great British Alphabet series. Superimposed across the full width of the design is a stylised side-elevation of an iconic British double-decker bus, its two decks rendered in clean incuse line work. Visible through the open aperture of the letter 'D' are schematic seated passengers occupying both the upper and lower decks, while the driver's cab and front wheel are discernible to the left of the letter. The rear platform with staircase is depicted to the right, completing the panoramic composition. No peripheral legend appears on the reverse; the letter 'D' alone serves as inscription. |

Part of the Royal Mint's "Quintessentially British" A–Z 10p series, this issue was released into general circulation in 2018 with the full alphabet spread across the denomination — the first time since decimalisation that the 10p had been used as a vehicle for a themed collection. The Royal Mint initially refused to sell the pieces directly, insisting they enter circulation through banks and Post Offices, which sent collectors scrambling through their change.
Total mintage across the 26 letters ran to approximately 2.6 million per design in 2018, with a further release in 2019.
