| 背面描述 | A South American sea lion (Otaria flavescens) bull rests beside a pup on a rocky shoreline, both animals rendered in naturalistic detail by William Gardner. The bull faces left with its mane finely engraved, while the smaller pup nuzzles close to its side. The curved legend FALKLAND ISLANDS arcs across the upper field, with the date 2004 at lower left and the denomination numeral 10 at lower centre. The engraver's initials WG appear to the lower right of the numeral, and a beaded border frames the entire design. |

The Falkland Islands retained its own coinage series following the 1982 conflict, issuing coins through the Royal Mint under a currency pegged at parity with sterling. The 4th portrait of Elizabeth II — the Rank-Broadley effigy adopted across Commonwealth territories from 1998 — appears here on an issue that circulated alongside British pound notes, which the islands accept interchangeably with their local currency.
