Additional information

Guernsey's wildlife series has drawn on species with genuine local presence, but the smooth snake is a curious choice — the reptile is effectively absent from the Channel Islands, its British range confined almost entirely to heathland remnants in Dorset, Hampshire, and Surrey. Whether the inclusion reflects a broader conservation mandate or simply editorial license in the series design brief is not documented in the issuing authority's public releases.

Charles III coinage from Guernsey began appearing in 2023 following the accession effigies prepared by Jody Clark, whose portrait had already been adapted for various Crown Dependencies ahead of the first official UK circulation issues.
