The denomination TEN PENCE arcs along the upper periphery, while the species name SMALL COPPER BUTTERFLY curves along the left side and lower periphery, completing the circular legend. The smooth field surrounding the motif provides a plain background that accentuates the intricacy of the butterfly's wing venation and markings. |
