| Reverse description | A full-colour applied image of an Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) occupies the central field, depicted in naturalistic detail with silvery-blue and pink iridescent tones, characteristic of the species in its prime. The fish is shown in dynamic lateral profile, slightly angled, with mouth open, fins extended and tail flukes clearly rendered. Guernsey has issued its own coinage independently of the UK since the early nineteenth century, though its pieces have never been legal tender on the British mainland. The 2023 Charles III definitive series marked the island's first transition to a new monarch in seventy years — the previous Guernsey Elizabeth II coinage having run from 1957.
The colourised salmon application is a post-mint addition, a collector variant rather than a circulation issue.
