| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, engraved by Glyn Davies, occupying the majority of the obverse field. The portrait depicts the King in mature likeness with naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features. The peripheral legend reads CHARLES III • BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY, with the engraver's initials GD positioned below the truncation and the date 2024 appearing in the lower field flanked by two pellets. |

Guernsey's wildlife coinage series has been a recurring feature of the island's decimal issues since the 1990s, though the red deer is a curious choice — the species has no native population on Guernsey itself, having been absent from the island for centuries. The denomination continues under Charles III following the Royal Proclamation updating effigy requirements across Commonwealth and Crown Dependency coinage after Elizabeth II's death in September 2022.
