| Reverse description | A full-bodied colourised depiction of a Highland cow stands facing left at centre, rendered with naturalistic detail including its characteristic long, shaggy reddish-brown coat and broad curved horns, the colouration applied over a milled nickel-plated steel field. The legend TEN PENCE arcs along the upper rim, while HIGHLAND COW curves along the lower rim in bold raised lettering, both in the Latin script. The flat field surrounding the colourised animal retains its metallic finish, providing strong contrast to the vivid polychrome central motif. The overall design was engraved by Mike Langman. |
