| 正面描述 | Bare-headed effigy of King Charles III facing left, modelled by engraver Glyn Davies, occupying the central field. The portrait depicts the King in a contemporary, unadorned style with naturalistic rendering of facial features and hair. The circular legend reads 'CHARLES III • BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY' around the upper periphery, with the date '2023' centred at the base, flanked by two raised dots. The designer's initials 'GD' appear incuse below the truncation. |

| 背面描述 | A colourised depiction of a Common Lizard (Zootoca vivipara) rendered in naturalistic full-colour, shown in profile crawling across the plain field with its tail curving upward toward the upper left. The lizard displays characteristic green and brown patterning with dark dorsal stripes, faithfully reproduced through a colour application technique. The denomination 'TEN PENCE' is inscribed in raised lettering along the upper arc of the coin, while the species name 'COMMON LIZARD' appears in bold raised lettering along the lower arc. |

Guernsey has issued colourised circulation-format coins sporadically since the early 2000s, though pieces like this one occupy an awkward commercial middle ground — too novelty-adjacent for serious type collectors, too denomination-specific to be purely commemorative. The common lizard, Zootoca vivipara, is one of the few reptile species native to the British Isles and is notably viviparous in cooler northern climates despite being oviparous in warmer southern populations — an unusual reproductive flexibility that makes it genuinely interesting subject matter, whatever one thinks of the colourisation technique.
