Reverse description A full-colour photorealistic depiction of a Common Heath Moth (Ematurga atomaria) occupies the centre of the field, its wings spread symmetrically to display the species' distinctive mottled brown, cream, and black patterning. The legend TEN PENCE arcs along the upper periphery, while COMMON HEATH MOTH is inscribed in a curved legend along the lower periphery. The colourisation technique provides naturalistic detail to the moth's wing markings, contrasting effectively with the milled silver-toned background. The design was engraved by Mike Langman as part of the Guernsey wildlife conservation series.
